The Elmhurst Model Railroad Club has encouraged the building and operation of model railroad layouts for both personal use and exhibition. By promoting the hobby of model railroading, our members build bonds & friendships that extend beyond our club.

About the Elmhurst Model Railroad Club
Our layouts depict nostalgic scenes from the transition era in the Midwest with rolling hillsides and farms to the
busy industrial complexes of steel mills and classification yards of more modern times.
You can experience real life railroading right outside our front door as the busy Union Pacific West mainline is
just steps from our entrance. Multiple freight and passenger trains pass hourly and viewing can be safely
enjoyed day and night in the small park between us and the Police Station.
Members enjoy daily access to the club layouts and alternate activities like Swap Meets, club parties, slide show nights,
special run events and visits to other layouts. Our philosophy is stated in our club constitution…
“The purpose of the club shall be to encourage the building and operating of
model railroad layouts for members use and for exhibition. A secondary purpose
shall be to encourage friendship and to promote the hobby of model railroading.”
